AMD is trying to get out of crisis

AMD decided to separate production units due to financial difficulties they are. Together with ATIC of Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates capital) founded a new company provisionally named "Company Founder" (The Foundry Company). The new company is part of the alliance for technology, "IBM technology alliance and will help to achieve next-generation semiconductors.
This move was prompted by the fact that many companies have withdrawn from the production of such semiconductor, given large sums to be invested in research and AMD had to pick up in competition with Intel and NVIDIA.
The Foundry Company will take over AMD manufacturing capabilities in Dresden, Germany (two plants) and all related assets and intellectual property and U.S. $ 1.2 billion of its debts. ATIC's contribution will be 2.1 billion USD in investment, of which 1.4 billion will be invested directly and the rest will be paid to AMD to purchase additional shares in the new company. In addition, ATIC will allocate additional funds in the next 5 years the minimum value to a maximum of 3.6 billion and $ 5 billion. These will be used to develop the two plants in Dresden and construction of new production lines in Saratoga, New York, which will lead to the creation of approx. 5,000 jobs in the area. Board of Directors will be composed of representatives of the two companies in equal numbers.
From "Company Founder, AMD will own 44.4%, 56.6% and ATIC. Once will be operational, the company will be the only factory producing next-generation semiconductors in the United States will have independent management.
Another win, AMD will be that Mubadala Development Company, which owns 8.1% of the shares, will invest USD 314 million in AMD to increase the number of shares to 19.3%, having the right to appoint a representative the Board of Directors of the company.
